Foundations.
One page on the foundations: what feng shui actually is, and the small set of ideas the rest of the guide stands on.
You know the friend who drops "the wealth corner" into dinner conversation like everyone at the table already agrees on what it means. You nod along, go home, open a search bar, and the first five results disagree with each other before you finish the second paragraph.
That gap is what this cluster closes.
What the rest of the guide assumes you already know
Feng shui, at the level this site works from, is a structured way of looking at a room. It asks where the door sits, where the bed sits, where the stove sits, where the light comes in, where the air moves, where you sit when you work. Then it hands you a short list of changes worth trying.
Some of those changes sit close to design thinking you would recognize from anywhere else: a bed positioned so you can see the door tends to help you settle into sleep, a chair that faces into the room instead of a wall tends to lower the low-grade alertness that drains a workday. Some of the changes are traditional in the older sense: the wealth corner, the mirror rules, the five-element pairings, the eight personal directions a person carries through their life. Neither kind is more real than the other. They are two different kinds of claim, and the rest of the guide labels each one so you always know which you are reading.
That is the one idea worth carrying into everything past this page. The elements, the Bagua, the room-by-room reads, the schools the whole tradition is built from: each is a longer answer to the same two questions. What changes, and why.
Where to go next
The full answer, and the shape of the value a home actually gets from it, lives on what feng shui actually is. Ten minutes, and it stays with the version of the tradition this whole site works from.
If you would rather start with your own numbers first, find your Kua number takes ten seconds and returns the four directions the tradition reads as supportive for you specifically. Almost everything else in this guide eventually points back to that number.
