Feng shui and money without wishful thinking.

Money is not summoned. It is handled. And the places in a home where it gets handled - the kitchen counter, the southeast corner, the front door, the desk, the drawer where the bills live - respond to the same six levers as every other cure in the practice.

What this cluster is not

This cluster will not promise that a figurine in a corner changes your bank balance. No object is asked to do the work of an income. If you came for that kind of promise, this is the wrong shelf. For the broader framing, the longer piece on what feng shui really is and is not sits alongside this cluster.

Here is the working version

Money places in a home respond to four observable things. Name them and you can stop guessing.

FLOW. The path money paper and money objects travel through the home. Post comes in the door, lands somewhere, moves to a desk, gets opened, gets paid or filed. If that path stalls, paper piles, and decisions get late.

CARE. The maintenance rhythm of the surfaces money lives on. The desk wiped weekly. The wallet emptied of receipts. The pantry shelf the grocery money turned into food. Care is a rhythm, not a one-off.

VISIBILITY. Whether you can actually see your money paperwork on a normal Tuesday. Buried statements are unread statements. A bill you cannot find is a bill that goes late.

PREPARATION. Whether the space is set up for the next bill, the next deposit, the next decision - rather than the last one. A tray that is already full cannot receive tomorrow's post.

Where money is handled in a home

Five places carry most of it. The southeast as the classical Wealth sector you keep clean, lit, and tended with Wood and Water. The kitchen, where groceries become meals and the largest week-to-week cash decisions land. The front door, the mouth of the house and so the mouth of money in the tradition's framing. The desk, where money paper lives. And the storage behind both: drawers, files, the pantry shelf, the folder the contracts sit in.

The next three pages of the cluster walk these in turn. Start with the southeast as a reading surface. Then how money moves through the kitchen. Then the desk and door as the working money positions.

The six levers, applied to money places

The vocabulary is the same as the cures cluster on what feng shui cures actually are. Six levers. Nothing else.

Element. Wood in the southeast. Fire (stove) and Water (sink) in the kitchen, with Wood placed between them as the mediating element. The favourable Kua direction the desk faces. Element shapes the conditions a money place reads in.

Placement. Where the desk sits in the room (solid wall behind, view of the door, not facing the door directly), where the post lands by the door, and where the stove sits relative to the sink. Placement supports the conditions for the flow to keep moving.

Visibility. What you can see from where you stand. A money paper you can see is a money paper you handle.

Proportion. One clear money corner with one well-chosen anchor, not three half-zones competing for attention. Proportion is what care looks like at a glance.

Timing. The weekly clear-down, the monthly file, the grocery rhythm. A surface attended to recently reads differently from one left for months.

Room use. A southeast corner in a hallway behaves differently from one in a bedroom. A desk used for the work reads differently from a desk used as a shelf. The room follows the use.

Two things if nothing else

If you do nothing else, do these. Find one money surface in the home. The desk, the entry tray, or the pantry shelf. Clear it down this week. Then notice one leak in the literal sense: a dripping tap, a slow drain, a running toilet. Water that escapes uncontrolled is the most direct money-leak in the tradition. While you are at it, fix one broken thing as well, because broken things quietly demand background attention.
