Do I need the Reading first?

No. The Birth Code starts from the eight characters and teaches the alphabet from scratch. Most readers come to it after seeing their own chart read once, which is why it is offered right after the Reading, but it stands on its own.

How long does it take to read?

Sixty-one pages with eighteen figures: an evening for the shape, then a chapter at a time with your own chart open beside it. The worked example at the end reads one whole chart start to finish so you can check your reading against a real one.

Which chart do I practise on?

Your own, from the free BaZi calculator, and then anyone who gives you their birth date. The book is written so the second chart you read is easier than the first.
